Dr.Ajit Singhvi is a management thinker par excellence. His organization ( Creating Competitive Advantage for Weaker Sections .... at "Dollar a Day"), acts both as a Think Tank and Developer of such Capabilities in the scoiety.
He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Manchester Business School, School of Engineering-Middlesex University, Japan Institute of Plant Management, Ashridge Management College, Institute of Chartered Accountants, and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants amongst others, Dr. Singhvi has gone beyond the frontiers of academics to reach for new horizons in creating knowledge and customer driven superior organizations. He was awarded two research degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and Doctor of Engineering (D.Engg) for his work in the areas of Good Governance and Superior Manufacturing Performance with focus on People, Processes. & Potential.

Since 1964, Dr. Singhvi has worked with May & Baker, British Insulated Cables (BICC), British Leyland, GEC Alsthom and CarnaudMetalbox Groups, in many countries, and in positions ranging from Financial Controller to Managing Director.

During 1997 to 2003, as one of the Corporate Presidents reporting to the Chairman, he conceived, authored and provided leadership for successful deployment of a new Model and Methodology under the title “World Class Manufacturing (WCM)” that helped Aditya Birla Group’s transformation to higher standards of excellence and competitive advantage. Dr Singhvi guided this Capability Enhancement initiative at 52 locations, engaged in diverse businesses, employing 54,000 people in several countries including India, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Egypt.

Between 2003 and 2006, as a Management Advisor, he guided and coached Argo Pantes Group teams, a Chinese-Indonesian conglomerate, for developing internal capability for Excellence in Business & People.

At present, he is providing consulting and coaching services to organisations in many countries and assists in developing the capability building initiatives for weaker sections. Dr. Singhvi ensures concurrent development of Strategy, Processes, People, Performance, and Potential. He specializes in management systems that help evolving of Mindset, Culture and Techniques for Sustainable Superior Operational Performance including Quality, Cost Delivery, Innovations, Productivity and Pride (QCDIP) on the one hand and effective Strategic Management on the other.

He has shared his thinking, model, methodologies and experiences with Board and Management members of several Businesses including L & T, Tata Group, Industry Associations, and Defense personnel.

During the period 1998 to 2003, Dr Singhvi presented shared his knowledge and experience and chaired Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized sessions in Conferences on World Class Quality, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and World Class Manufacturing. In 2003, he led the CII assessment team to Tata Steel for Prime Minister’s Award for Best Steel Plant in India.



Dr. Singhvi also contributed a number of critically acclaimed articles and presentations on economic, financial and operational aspects including linear programming, quality, good governance, manufacturing excellence and people development. at national and international forums including Cambridge Manufacturing Centre and Nigeria Economic Summit. He was a keynote speaker on many occasions including the Regional Conference of Institute of Personnel Management, Bangalore, 2002 and International CAD CAM Conference on Factories of the Future, Vellore, 2006.

Dr Singhvi headed the Business Excellence and Competitiveness Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2001. He also chaired the External Relations Committee of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce in India in 2000-2002. He was Dy. Treasurer of the Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce in 1989-1992, and was a member of Corporate Governance Committee of the Associated Chamber of Commerce (ASSOCHAM) in 2001.

He inspired many Army and Civil Institutions for achieving World Class Performance, and conducted Workshops at Army Base Workshops in Pune and New Delhi for improving their performance.

Dr. Singhvi has passion for preparing the next generation to face emerging global challenges. He taught “Management Planning & Control Systems” at XLRI School of Business and Human Resources., India in 1973. Recently, he was an adjunct Professor at the same School for “Resource Based Strategy” and “Transformation for Sustainable Superior Performance”. He was the author of “Inflation Adjusted” published annual statements for shareholders in 1975. As a guest speaker and visiting faculty member, he has been interacting with the students and faculties of IITs, IIMs, Colleges and Universities in India, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Vietnam and China

Dr Singhvi provides free services in many countries for improving the competitive abilities of weaker sections under the auspices of International Centre for Excellence and Competitive Advantage (ICECA) Trust.

His mission is to deliver “More with less”. His inspirational abilities, knowledge, global experience and multi skilled practical techniques can help industry and businesses achieve quicker transformation of their organisation and people for sustained superior performance
